What you need to bring
When you visit the Georgetown Bread Basket, you will be asked for information about your income, your address and your expenditures. It is important to bring the following:
This information is asked the first time you visit the food bank. Should you not have all the required information upon registration, you will have 3 visits to bring it to us. All information gathered will be kept strictly confidential.
Financial eligibility
When accessing the GBB, you will undergo an income assessment interview. This assessment helps us determine whether you will be allowed to shop once or twice a month. This ensures that food is fairly distributed among those who need it.
What you will get
Once you have registered, you will be able to shop. You can choose the foods you like, up to the maximum posted on the shelves depending on the number of persons in your family unit. If you have children (age 18 or below), we provide up to 2 milk vouchers per family. These vouchers are exchangeable for up to 5$ worth of milk at Food Basics. You may also be eligible to receive formula vouchers if you have infants.
